I often thought about writing on my blog,but didnt think many people would read it. I see a few people stopping by here,thought maybe I should update it!

Well, at around 8:10pm on Monday,May 17...I became a grandma! So many mixed feelings.Happy,sad,worried...Confused....But looking at little Nivayah in all of her 7lbs,13oz's of cuteness, I couldn't help but smile. Smile at the perfect little face of hers. All the dark hair,the chubby cheeks...Her 10 fingers and 10 toes...That wonderful baby smell. My heart just melted when I saw my son hold her for the first time. He is such a proud young man. I still can't believe that I am for sure a grandma.....It doesn't seem real,just 18 short years ago, I held him in my arms for the very first time. Its going to be a long hard road for them,but they will get it right!

Wow....where did the time go? Its 2010 already. The days just don't seem long enough. In a way I am glad its a new year though. A new start with some things. An end to some others. I did make some New Years Resolutions,and I am not sure why. I never seem to go thru with them and end up kicking myself later on for not atleast trying to make it.

My only issue is my weight. That is the one resolution I make to change and I always seem to fail. So I am at it again......Maybe this year will be that magical year!!!

Boy where does the time go? Seems just like I posted yesterday......All that time in between doesn't seem like all that long!

Since the last time I wrote...We have had at least 3 feet a snow drop on us in the past few days. It really sucks! I don't drive in the winter,so I don't go out very often. Sitting in here really starts to get to you after awhile. I can only do so much cleaning before that gets sickening. But soon we will start snow shoeing and sledding and all that winter has to offer way up here. I do have to admit,the snow does add to the Christmasy feel.

Speaking of Christmasy feeling....Christmas has broke open here at the Mihelich home and I love it! I think this is my favorite time of year. My favorite part is sitting here with just the twinkling of the lights and the fireplace going....

Last Thursday I got together with some friends for a girls night. We talked jewlery and had a few snacks,played a few games of Blingo and some even won free jewlery. So....I had a few orders leaving my party and managed to get a few more outside orders.....I got sooo much free jewlery!!! I cannot wait to see it all. I looked that book over and over. I am pretty sure I know it all by heart,that is how many times I looked at it! It took me 3 days to finally figure out what I want,then at the last minute, I found that I could get more free stuff....Back to the drawing board!!!! I am so excited for it all to be here!!!!! I will have to post pictures when my treasures come in!!!!

Weekend Fun

Finally a weekend out of town,no kids to worry about,just me and some really close friends.....Oh and....The Dallas Cowboys!!!!! Margarita's and real malls! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Even though the Cowboys lost to the Packers and out friends are all Packer fans,we had the perfect weekend! The weather was beautiful. No snow pants this year! There were 10 of us this year and it was just a great time. I really am greatful for all of those friends that I have. It is really nice to spend some time with them! Just wish we could do this more often!

Today was a good day!!! I reordered some makeup from Bare Minerals...I just love that stuff. I tend to go over board though and buy way too much,but they have such nice eye shadows!!! So darn excited for it all to come in!

Not much else is going on here in the Mihelich house. Just getting ready for winter here. The weather has been so nice, I hate to think about snow coming.I did get a few last minute things done in the yard to prepare for spring. Got some bulbs planted and some plants moved around. I can't wait to see what next spring brings in my gardens. Got all the house cleared of clutter and changed out a few more things in preparation for Christmas time.

As for the Baby news...Daymen and Steph got to here the heartbeat last week....160 beats....So any thoughts on what its going to be!? I am getting more excited as the days go by. Although, the worrying is still there to put a damper on my excitement. I hope in time the worrying will fade and the enjoying will begin!!!

Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was the sickness going around...But Halloween was different this year. We bought like $50 in candy and we hardly had any Trick or Treaters this year. As we walked the streets where we tot there were not as many lights on this year. My kids didn't want to go out this year,but of course we made them!!! They had fun once we got going,but their hearts just weren't in it this year.

Wonder how everyone else did!?

Boy Time Flies!!!

Its been a few months since I last saw ya!!! And boy have I been busy! I figured tonight I had better get back into the swing of things and start doing things that I want to do...Not just those pesky things that I need to do! So here I am.....

While I was away, I redid almost the whole upstairs and changed a few things out downstairs. I still have many more things on my to do list. But its dwindling down just in time for the next list to be published!!!! I FINALLY got my basement cleared out. It has taken me 3 weeks and counting to remove all that I didn't need in there. I even painted a wall down there.....

In the last few weeks I found out that as of May 2010 I will become a grandma! I am so not ready for that chapter in my life. My son is only 17....Heck, I am only 35!!! Boy talk about mixed emotions there...They are so not ready for this and I don't know if they ever will be. I sure was not happy like grandparents are supposed to be when they find out that there babies are going to have babies...Right now that is hard for me,because I know what it is like to be 17 and have this baby that you have no idea what to do with....I was there,living on my own,my husband not living with me because of school....I know all those feeling creep up on you and you don't know where to turn. I did have my family though,my parents were there for me...And that is what I promised both of them....I love them dearly and I know they need us more than ever right now...... Then there is that part of me that is growing more excited as the days grow closer...I wonder what its going to be,how much will she weigh, how much hair will he have.....I have a funny feeling he or she will be quite spoiled!!!

While I was gone for these past few months...Janets day came and went. And I sat here remembering it like it was just yesterday that she passed away. I don't think a day goes passed that something doesn't remind me of her. Boy, I sure could have used her advice on my news about being a grandma!!! And boy do I miss her. Tonight while searching peoples blogs I came acrossed this recipe for a Chicken Salad....And like it was yesterday, a vision of us sitting around her table at Stitch and Bitch came into my head. I could smell the smell of her house.....Seems I could almost taste that salad. I could hear her silly laugh.....Just seeing that recipe brought me to tears....A little sad,but I think more for those happy moments that I do remember....

Well, I will be here more often. Enjoying this time here.....Don't be a stranger leave me a note!!!!

Finding time

Finding time in a day for all the things I want to do is becoming a challenge. It seems like the days are just flying by. I am trying to come on here more and write about what is going on in my life. Just incase someone out there stumbles across my spot on the web.

This weekend was supposed to be about relaxing and spending time with friends and family. And ya know...That is what it was. I even had a chance to meet some new folks. That is the best part about camping. You find new people at the camp grounds.Some local and some from far away.

In every camping trip, I learn something new. I get to see different things that are around me. Unfortunetly,this weekend I had the opportunity to watch an older gentleman fight for his life as first responders and medical staff tried to revive him. Learning,later that evening that he had finally passed on. The rest of the evening I just couldn't help but think about the old man laying there on the ground as the people pushed down on his chest,breathing in one more breath of hope.....As his family sat in the background drinking more alcohol. I should have just turned around on my walk when I came to him laying on the ground with people surounding him,because I just haven't been the same. Just haven't felt the same thinking that the family that he was there with sat there all that night....Drinking and most of the next day.

I know some people greive in different ways,but for me...Thinking of him being alone on that ride to the hospital,and alone in that hospital....Knowing that no one was waiting to hear the news in the waiting room. It has been with me since. Rest In Peace Mr. Mike......

The camping season...

Its seems like we just got the trailer out of storage! I just love being at the campground. If it were up to me,I would stay there all summer. I love listening to all the birds chirping and the crickets making their noises. When its all dark and the park is quiet,its nice to listen to the night time noises. I love the smell of a campfire. And nothing beats the taste of a hotdog cooked over a campfire.

Thursday we will be heading out to celebrate Christmas in July. Its a whole lot of fun and there are so many different activities for the kids. The campground is all decorated for Christmas. I love to take the kids around the park at night when its all lit up for the holidays. Its a whole new thing when there isn't any snow on the ground.

So, now I am off to get things ready to head out.

Time sure does fly when the summer air is here!!! Winter and snow never goes this fast!!!! Gee,it feels like summer just came and its already July 20th. It hasn't been the warmest summer,but just glad not to see the white stuff!

Lots has happened in the little bit of time I haven't blogged. My bedroom is finally finished and I did get to complete the bathroom project. My next project is to clean the basement.....That will mostlikely take me into the next century!!!Yeah,its that bad! Its been dificult to get the motivation to get down there and find a starting place. I did start lastnight,though...Lets see how much will get done with camping trips coming up.

Besides trying to keep up with house cleaning,I have been helping my parents and camping. Hanging out with friends and family has been on the top of my priorities these days. Camping has been great this year. The 4th of July was a blast. We had 6 families camping with us and more joined us for the 4th activities. It was great to have so many people be a part of that time. A lot of great memories. This weekend we will be celebrating Christmas in July in Baraga.....I can't wait!!!

The other day we added an new member to our family....We named her Dezi. She has to be the cutest puppy I have seen in awhile. She is a great puppy,just wish she wouldn't sleep so much during the day. It makes night time worse for me!!

Finally, I think you decided to meet us! It has been a long time coming. And its been beautiful out. Today is a bit gloomy,but we do need some much needed rain. So,I will forgive you today!!!

My flowers are growing so nice and the yard is looking so green. Janet would be so proud of my flower this year. I was so nervous about planting new flowers since we moved here. A few have died and I removed them,making me even more nervous.But Janet always gave me encouragement to just wait and see. The three year idea has stuck with me since. First year to plant them,second year to let them get used to it all and in the third year you will enjoy them. And that is what I am doing today. It seems strange that I didn't need to plant anything this year....So, I decided to just watch what I do have planted,grow. I finally got the chance to enjoy the Iris's that I was able to take from her yard. When she was very sick, she asked us if there was anything we would like of hers to remember her by. I wanted to know her favorite flower and she gave me one from her own garden. So, every morning I wake up and look out my window, I can see her favorite flower in all its purple glory. Thank you Janet for all your help and encouragement in my gardens. Your wisdom and kind words will never be forgotten. Instead of having those words though,I would much rather have you here!!! We sure do miss you......

Today is the day I have been dreading since last September...The offical last day of school for the summer break. I am already going crazy. Forget all about structure in this house for the next 3 months,forget about sanity...It is all gone!!!!Pray for me!!

Today was the first nice day we have had in a long time. I think spring was skipped all together this year. I has been sooooo cold and windy out. So....Since today was a beautiful day, the grass was mowed. I was so excited to finally get the opportunity to cut the grass! Normally a normal person would think that was a chore and dread doing it! I love being out in my yard and cutting the grass is right up on my list of likes. My grass though,is full of weeds! I work all summer to get a healthy lawn and then winter hits...What a waste!!! This year I am not going to do it,I am just gonna water it and cut it....

Over the Memorial Day weekend we took a run to Copper Harbor for our first camping trip of the season. We had a blast. The weather cooperated as far as it not raining,but it sure was chilly! Steve and Suzette and her 3 boys were there,along with Leon and Kristy and her 2 boys and Jimmy. Then Chrystal and Michael joined us with their 2 kids. I sure had a good time and hated to pack up Sunday night. I could live in that camper!!! We took walks,rode our bikes...Chatted around the campfire and just enjoyed each others company....Can't wait to hit the road again......

Today I recieved an email from a friend. It was one of those that you send to a someone special and this will happen, or send it to someone special to let them know you are thinking this....Well,at that moment of me reading it, the word made me think of my dear friend Jan. Knowing she is gone, I sent it to her. I guess because I felt better knowing it was there in her email.....About a minute or so later I got an error saying the address was no longer avalible. That doesn't suprise me,because most people don't keep paying for something after a loved one is gone. So, why is it that I feel so sad? Tears are rolling down my cheeks and it feels so good to cry....

Today we helped Steve and Suzette celebrate with Nicks mom. It was a nice time. I love to hang out and talk. They are very busy, we are very busy. So time with family is very rare. I like to hear about the different things their kids are doing. Its so sad to see how everyone is growing up. I guess not sad...but just hard to believe...Where has the time gone. So today even though it was snowing out it was a great day. Mom Judy didn't have to waiste her time in the kitchen cooking. We ordered pizza had sat and talked....And did awhole lot of laughing. A nice day to store in the memory bank!

Looking back on Mothers Days past... There was an elderly lady working in her flower garden all by herself one Mothers Day. I am sure she had children but maybe they didn't live nearby. It bothered me for some reason that she was all alone in her yard. I turned my car around and went back to the store. I went to the floral department and told the lady to make me a special bouquet, the price wasn't important. The flowers were so beautiful....So I rode back down the road towards home and there was the lady,still in the garden. I stopped the car in the drive way and took the flowers to her....She looked up and said hello....I said..." I know you aren't my mother,but I felt that you needed something special today." She was so happy and her eyes got tears in them....She thanked me over and over. I got back into my car and drove away...I felt so good that I started to cry!!! A few months later, I recieved a card from her thanking me....I don't know how she knew it was from me because I never left my name on the card. I loved that good feeling so much that I do that more often now.....Some people have never recieved flowers.....It brighten there day and I am glad!!!

Spring means new,fresh.....

So...I treated myself to a new hair cut and color. I haven't been blondish in forever,so I told my hair lady to do something fun and not a traditional blonde.Something funky...So I got a Faux Hawk in a blondish red with blonde highlights...I love short hair on me. I can't seem to grow it out,so I want it funky if I am cutting it all up! Can't wait to throw some make up on and take some pictures!!!

Spring has arrived!

It was so nice out today. The wind was a little chilly,but the sun was shining bright. It was the perfect Sunday. We had some time down at the park with our favorite friends,had some lunch and when all was done came home and got some yard things taken care of. Took Max for a walk and all was a good day.

I just loved taking the time out of everyday things to walk around my yard and look at all the new things poping up that I planted last fall. I worried about them not being planted right and not coming up this year. But so far everything is growing. WE took out all the summer stuff for the yard and put them in their places now all that is left...waiting for the flowers to grow for that final touch.

I have a few shutters to paint and the front porch to snad and paint,but today was just a day to enjoy the yard with no snow....Finally!!!

Spring...Where are you???

Today's date...April 21st. The weather....SHITTY!!! We were woken by the sounds of the snow plow going past the house.Turning on the radio it was the sound of school cancelations all over town. While everyone else is enjoying this "Global Warming" effect....We are digging ourselves out of a two foot snow bank.It has been snowing since Sunday,but yet Friday it was 76 degrees. What did the people of the Great U.P do to deserve this crap!!!????

These pictures were taken this morning...The snow still keeps coming down. On Friday our yard was bare,my tulips were coming up and it was beautiful......

Changes are going on!!!

Well, the dreaded painting is done in my bedroom. I love it!!! Everything is coming together so nicely.Everything is cleaned out and cleaned up...Rearranged and so fresh and airy! I am not ready to show it off yet as I am waiting for a small chair for the corner by the closet. I found the perfect little chair to sit and read my books in. So...While I am waiting for the Target package,I am off to paint the master bathroom. I am going with the same style as in the bedroom of course,but the paint will be a shade or two lighter. I have already started on the ceiling painting it white. For some odd reason when I painted the bathroom a couple of years ago, I did the ceiling in the same color as the walls...What was I thinking!!!!

Sad to say though,there is only a 2 lb difference in the wieght department! I shouldn't say its sad,because it is 2 lbs and its better than a gain. But I just get so discouraged sometimes. I have been going 6 days a week and working my tail off for 2 hours everytime. And I only lost the 2 lbs!!!! Well, I know that I have to keep going and keep eating the good foods. I will have my ups and downs,but down the road it will pay off. Even though there isn't a big difference in my weight in numbers,my clothes fit better and I feel much better. Not so tired feeling and that guilt is not there like it was before. Things that I never thought I could do,I can do them....Like the stepper at the Gym. I would have never thought to try it out let alone be on it for 25 minutes and burning 200+ calories on it. I am up to 60 crunches on the crunch machine.When I started I couldn't even get the 10 done! I am up to riding 5 miles on the bike in a 20 minute period. I feel better now than I did a month ago. And I guess that is what matters not what the scale says!!! So,I am going to keep with it another month and see how things go. Its a life time commitment and I think I am heading in the right direction.

Nick is right there along with me working hard and that makes me happy to see him there and the changes that he is making. He is working hard...Thanks Nick for getting us signed up and pushing me when I don't want to be pushed!

Speaking of changes...Spring is here and the snow is starting to melt. Little by little the grass is showing.Its so nice to hear the birds chirping in the morning. I cannot wait to get outside and do some yard work. That is my favorite spot,out in the flower beds getting things to grow!

Why is it the weekend is here...I have a list of things I want to do, and I just can't find the "want" to want to get them done. I have the paint all ready to go and I just don't want to be painting. Why can't I just get it done and over with. I won't have to worry about it! It is a dreary cloudy day,perfect day for house work right!!!

I have found a pancake breakfast to go to, I found a winter sports swap to browse around at and I found a movie to take the kids to.....Now I am at home,there is nothing holding me back!!! There is nothing left for me to do to keep me from that brush!!!!

So...I guess off to painting I go!!!

Trying out some new stuff!

Well, since I have been going to the gym,I thought I probably should start eating better. Duh,right!! So, I have started drinking the diet pops. I am terrible when it comes to pop. The more I try to cut back the more I want it and crave it. It is so hard to stay away from it. Well, I decided I better start doing something or my time at the gym is a waiste. So here I sit drinking a new found love, a Diet Pepsi!

Another thing I am tying out is that Yoplus Digetstive yogurt stuff. It isn't too bad! I have had better,but then I have had worse. I guess the part that keeps me eating it is that it is healthier than what I am used to.

If I keep all this healthy eating and keeping with the gym....Results will follow. By camping season I will be willing to go out on the bike trails with our friends who like to do those things. I won't be afraid that I am holding them up,I will be able to keep up with them!

Today at the gym....
Walked 20 minutes,incline on 4.5 at a speed of 3.5 distance 1 mile.
Biked 20 minutes, Level 2 at a speed of 10.5 distance 5 miles
I worked my legs today. There are a total of 6 machines I used, reps 3 and in those reps I did 10 each,so a total of 30 of each machine.Lowest weight used was 25 and the highest was 110.

I am on my 3rd bottle of water...That is big for me!!!

Waiting on Weight!!!

How come it takes so much energy and strength to lose a dang pound. It has been about a month that I started working on exercises and really watching my food intake. So...I weighed myself before I left the Gym today and I am up 2 pounds than when I started the darn place! How???? So, I am kind of disappointed. Make that really disappointed!!! I do feel better about myself reguardless of what the scale says,but it would have been nice to see a decrease...Not the increase I found when I looked down. I just have to keep going. Keep drinking the water and making those small changes that I have been doing. Soon enough I will start seeing results. I just have to keep telling myself not to give up!

I went back up in my bedroom today and started painting again....It needs to get done and the only way I am going to get through it is going back up there. I can't wait until it is all done.It is going to look so nice and Springy!!!Fresh new bedding and curtains. So I gotta keep plugging along...Spring will be here before you know it and there won't be a whole lot of time inside....

Making a comeback!!!!

Well, it has been over a month since I last wrote. I told myself...I better get back on here before too much time passes! I think winter is finally giving up the fight and moving back to where it came from. It has been beautiful out the last week or so. I guess that is the reason my spirits are on the rise. Winter can get so long here in the U.P.

Nothing really has changed since my last post. The house projects kind of came to a hault because I just ran out of energy. So, I have a half painted bedroom which is on my to do list. I had some major set backs with the hall way. But thats a story for another time! But things are coming along...Slowly,but surely!

I have made progress in the weightloss area though. Which I am proud to say! No...no pounds lost as of yet. But Nick and I started the gym last week. We haven't missed a day yet. I love it there. I do feel much better,and I am eating much better. SO hopefully we will see some changes in the clothing part. I hope to see smaller sizes in my future. And maybe 20lbs from now...I will see a new tattoo in my future~!!!

It's been awhile!

I have been trying to get some motivation to get my butt in gear,but it's just not happening! So, that will explain the long gap in between my posts. I haven't been up to anything. Trying to get my bedroom painted and decorated, trying to finish the upstairs. Its hard when you don't feel like doing anything.

Winter has dumped about 30 inches more of snow on us the other day,so it has been really hard finding the "want" in getting anything done!

Boring Days Of Winter!

It has been a few days since I posted last. I just haven't been feeling up to doing anything. Winter keeps going on and on. We have so much snow this year. The temps have been really low,in the negatives. So it doesn't leave a lot to do. The kids hate being kept inside,but its just been too cold to play out doors. Living in a small town like we do,there isn't awhole lot to indoors.

So I have been painting along and trying to keep myself busy inside here. NO fun for the kids though.

Today is a wintery day,perfect day for looking at old photos. I have this digital photo frame sitting on my table awaiting pictures!! I decided to tackle that job today. I am finding it hard to pick through all the hundreds of photos we have taken. Some are funny and so are just so sad. I can't believe how many people I have taken pictures of that have passed on. I will be sure to add those special ones. Friends that know me think I am crazy with my camera,taking it everywhere I go. Just incase I have a moment to take some pictures. Looking back on these pictures of those who passed on,I am glad that I took the time to bring my camera. I am so glad that I have all these memories of my children growing up and my friends kids getting older. So...when you have the chance....Take those photos!!!! I am glad I did!

SNOW For Sale

What happened to "global warming"? I think it missed the U.P.!!! Seeings it was -22 degrees. We have a total of 157 inches of snow. Last Thursday we had 123 inches.....That is a whole lot of snow in a weeks time. The snow banks are just crazy here. And I don't think Spring is going to come this year...I miss camping and all the things that summer brings...

18 Years Ago....

Tomorrow will be 18 years that Nick and I have been together. Dang! 18 looong years!!! Looking back through all those years and it just amazes me. I never thought once being a teenager would end up spending so much time with one person. I had NO plans on even going out with him. He was so easy to talk to and funny. Remembering we would be on the phone for hours.

Him and I have overcome so many obtacles. Jealousy,money issues,having children so young....And here we stand 18 years later,stronger than ever. He is my best friend,the one person I can turn to no matter what happens. He has been there through everything with me and has never turned his back.

Thank you Nick!!! Happy 18 years and hopefully there will be many more!!!

Why I Hate WInter!!!

There are many reason's I hate winter!!! The biggest reason being,idiot drivers! We live in the snow capital of the US.It is winter here almost 9 months out of the year.Once it starts snowing,it doesn't stop until spring...Okay so July!!!

So,on the radio the weather man comes across,telling us there is a storm warning...blah blah blah!!! Nothing new!! But all the idiot drivers get in there cars and feel the need to go to Walmart! Not because they need to get to and from work,they NEED to go to Walmart!!!

In the middle of the highway is a wreck.....Some dumb ass was driving in the middle of the two lanes or something like that. Of course a person from another country!!! (Sorry if you come from another country,but learn to drive before you get behind the wheel!!!!) So here was a pile up of cars when we come DOWN HILL around a SHARP corner....We started sliding and the back end is going all over.....I think we slid all the way down the hill sideways!!! I was so scared....Then we come to the cop car...Sitting in the middle of the road with the officer just sitting there...HELLO MOVE THE HELL OUTTA THE WAY!!!

We made it down the hill with no injuries...Just messy pants!!!Hehee!!! Kidding!!! So....I am not moving outta my yard until the snow is gone!!!!

Thinking About Spring!

Today the sun was shining,it wasn't snowing.Just a beautiful day. I spent the day trying to catch up on laundry. No one ever has anything to wear,but I always have a laundry room FULL of laundry!!! Where does it all come from!?

As I am doing the laundry,I am thinking about all the stuff I could be doing outside if there were no snowbanks. I could be repainting the shutters that are in need of paint. The porch needs to be scraped and repainted. And I am so worried about my garden wondering if all the plants that I had planted are going to come back. I can't wait to start spring cleaning my yard and watching the flowers bloom. I have a few jobs to take care of this spring and I can't wait!

Until then,I will daydream about being out camping and sitting around the fire pit put in the yard,laying on the ground outside on a summer night watching the stars.

What To Do Today

It is a cold one again today! The cold is nothing new but I am just wishing spring could be here! Seeings that isn't happening for a few more months,I have to find different things to do on the really cold days to keep me busy and out of the cupboards! So....All that is left to do is paint!!! I am growing tired of painting! But stupid me decided to redo the rooms upstairs.

And being a boring Sunday...I painted the day away. I finished the hallway and the closet. Did some more in Coleton's room and did some in my room. I wasn't planning on painting my bedroom so soon,but I found this awsome green color. I painted the hall closet that green because I am turning it into a little office space.I like the color so much that I started painting my bedroom. So...I guess I am painting my room!!

Wintery Days

It was the coldest 25 degree day I ventured out in. We decided to take the kids sledding in Hancock today. That wind was so darn cold! The kids loved it,but man it sure was a cold one. I am still slightly afraid to go down the hill yet this year. Its strange how an adult is there telling the kids not to be afraid,they will love it. And here I am petrified of the darn hill!

So,while the kids and the husbands went up and down the hill,Jen and I took Nikiah for a walk around the little town to keep in with my New Years resolution. By the time we got back the kids were ready to call it quits. We had a good time even though the weather was chilly!

I posted earlier about ringing in the New Year,something went wrong with the post.So here I am trying to remember what I wrote.

We had a blast New Years Eve. Started out with dinner at the Pilgrim River.The food was done just right. After dinner we went to the DT and ended our night like usual at The Uphill. We drank more than we should have and danced the night away. Everyone seemed to gravitate over to where we were. A lot of laughing...The best way to ring in the New Year!

With that said,now I need to concentrate on the New Year,saying goodbye to 2008. 2008 went out with a bang and alot of great memories in hopes of many more new ones for 2009. And last but not least...Those pesky resolutions I made for the new year have to be followed...Hopefully I can write in 2010 on how great I did in 2009!!!

Christmas has come and gone

All that is left in the Mihelich house is a big mess! Everything is torn apart,and toys are all over the place! No matter what I do to keep the mess contained,it finds its way around again. I asked Santa to keep the gift giving to a minimum, I don't think he got that letter! We have a Barbie Camp ground going on here along with a
Playmobile toyland in the middle of my livingroom. The upstairs is in the middle of being painted. Me and my bright Idea's! I have the hallway and Coleton's room almost done. So...For now the downstairs has been neglected.The kids are loving it!!!

I hope to get all the holiday decorations down soon.I would like to have it done by New Years Day,but the past couple of days,I don't feel much for cleaning. I just want to paint! We will see what happen's.

I made my New Years Resolutions and got them written down in my journal. There are only 3. Normally I don't make any because I don't feel like I could go thru with it.But this year I hope it will be different.

My first one is to be more watchful on our money. We have been way to giving and it feels good,but we need to be more frugal. We make a great living but this house needs to be paid off!

My second Resolution is to watch my weight. Not just to lose weight,but to be healthier. I can be a fluffy person,and still eat healthy. Drink more water and eat more veggies.

My third one is to be more organized with my house. To take care of my home for the future. Meaning there are things that we have been putting off that need to be done. The basement for example has a problem that needed to be addressed since we moved in and just haven't bothered with it.It should be dealt with or it will be worse in the long run.

That is it!!! I only have 3!!! Let's see if I can stick to them!!!

It's Christmas!!! Yeahhhh!!!! I had a wonderful day today.We played outside,played too many matching games.I got to play barbies with Nikiah and her new Barbie camper. We had breakfast and a big dinner like always. Lots of relaxing and I got to watch lots of my favorite channel HGTV!!! It was a great day. The kids seemed happy with all their gifts and they have been playing for hours together.That is what I like to see....

Lastnight we had the Demske's over.We had some wine and decorated cookies together.The kids played together and let us adults relax after all the cookies were done. We had a good time.

The Year Is Almost Over...

So I am thinking about what the new year is going to bring. I hope its a heathlier one for my family...Especially my parents. We have dealt with strokes,blood clots,cancer...What else can go wrong... I hope my buddy Troy will make it to see another birthday. He is an amazing,strong little guy. To think he has made it thru another year.He will be 20 this year and that alone is just beyond a miracle. He has been through it all and just keeps hanging on. Smiling his big bright smile! He was so happy this evening opening his Christmas gifts from us. He loves brightly colored papers and the noise the paper makes when you crumple it all up. He was just giggling away!!! So.I hope this year brings more laughter from him.

Another thought for this new year is getting my house chores all done,so summer can come and I can be outside enjoying my yard and camper. So...The upstairs is in the process of getting new paint onthe walls. Yeah...Don't know what I was thinking. I started with the trim in all the bedrooms and I started a whole new mess!!! But it will look nice when its all done! I am finally done downstairs....

Then there is the whole weightloss thing. That is always a resolution....Well, I made that same resolution last year...It didn't hold up too well, so my resolution this year...To gain 20 lbs!!!! Maybe the reverse affect will happen!!!

Dinner with Friends

Well, dinner on Friday was great. YUMMY! I think I ate too much,but all the food turned out. There was Lasagna,Tuna Salad to add to the things I had already made.I made some punch and there was homemade bakery thanks to Brian and Danielle. We had a great time and had a lot of laughs!

Tonight is our night to gather our friends around and have a potluck! I am actually excited about preparing the food for this. I am making homemade sloppy joes,meatballs,and taco salad. I don't know for sure what everyone else plans to bring.Its a suprise! We try and do this every year right before Christmas,have a big dinner potluck type thing. Normally,every Friday we all meet here and hang out.Play games,watch movies or just hang out. I like it. There have been a lot of different people in and out of my home. Its strange when I think about it sometimes,because I wouldn't have thought to invite them. You know...Someone knows this person,so hey come on and join us. Or this person is friends with him....Sure come on over!! Its neat! I hope they enjoy it here!

Sharing the Holidays

This is the time of year I love. I love how everyone is so cheerful and giving. Its the one time of year when families get together whether everyone likes it or not. Me...I am one who doesn't mind who I am with as long as there is laughter,I don't care who is sitting next to me. I am one who likes my family. I enjoy spending time with them and not just during the holidays. I enjoy their company and we spend a lot of time laughing at each other. Nick's side of the family....I think that we all get along. I enjoy spending time with them and enjoy watching their children grow just as I do my own family.

The other night my sister Laurie came for a very short visit. We don't see each other as often as we would like,but talk on the phone often. She came up to suprise my parents for Christmas. So while she was in town we decided to go to dinner and visit. We had such a great time,I wish the night didn't have to end and her have to go back in the morning. We took a lot of photos and hugged and said out goodbyes. I hate goodbyes!!

My family

Yesterday was Michaels 13th birthday. 13 years old already! Michael is my little sister Tarri's oldest. She has 3 boys. Michael,Brandon and Devan. Well, yesterday we went to her house to celebrate with some yummy food and cake. And of course some good company. It was one of those kind of days where you just wanted to sit around and just visit.So...That is what we did. Somewhere in the mix we decided to have the boys spend the night at our house! I must of been crazy at that time. We have a house full today. Of course the weather is stormy and cold,so no one wants to play outside. Playing tag in the house is just not happening,so instead,they decide to play hide and seek....Oy Vey!!!

My family is rather large. I have 6 sisters Karen,who has 3 kids. Laurie who has 3 kids. Kelly who has 3 kids. Kim has 3 kids,one of them has passed away. Tamara,she has 6 kids. And Tarri who has the 3 boys. Then I have 3 brothers. John has 2 girls.Michael has 3 kids,and Alan has 3 kids also. WOW!!! That is alot of kids!!!

I wish I had pictures of all of them! But for now I have a few photos of the ones I am closer to.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I'd say I am done with all the decorating. I didn't go all out this year. I don't know why,but looking at all those 12 55 gallon sized buckets....I just kind of wanted to go simple this time. Just a little Christmas cheer here and there! I still have yet to take pictures though,I just haven't had the time.

The snow is really piling up outside making it really feel like the Christmas season.The lights really look nice against all the white snow. They just seem to twinkle more. This year we did the outside with colored lights. I really like how they stand out.

Today the younger two had there Christmas Concert at the school.This evening we took a ride to Calumet for a Tree Lighting ceremony. Its called the "Tree Of Love". We added this tradition last year to our must do list. I have donated or remembered a loved one for a few years,but until last year,never took part in the ceremony. This year was the 15th Annual Tree Of Love ceremony in memory of Jamie Jurmu who was 13 when she suddenly passed on.Her mother started this organization up to keep her memory alive. Why its special to us is our neice Sara passed away when she was just a little over a year old. Nicks brother and his wife were just devastated. This was in 1991.....So they have been there with Mrs Jurmu keeping Sara's memory alive. Steve and Suzette have had 4 children and this is their way to get through the holidays without their precious Sara. We started going because I feel I would like them to know that we will always remember her. Its a very touching short cememony,and to me a sad one. Many tears were shed this evening. I am just happy that I was able to be a part of it. Janet was represented with one of those bright lights along with a few others that I lit up.

Along the ride to and from we were able to check out the holiday lights. There doesn't seem to be as many as in the past years. That is sad to see....But the ones we did see were just so bright.It was nice to have sometime to relax and look around.

So take the time to look at the lights...They are so beautiful this time of year.....

This evening I decided I had better start writing out my Christmas cards. So with the help of Nikiah we got everything together to sit down and start writing them out. I got to my third person on my list and realized that person is no longer with us.....I kept my list from the previous years and just decided to see how many have passed on from when I started writing my cards out until now....Its sad to think of them people as being gone from my life.

I got down my list some and came to my dear friend Janet's name. It's still so fresh in my mind,her passing. I know that she is not here this year and it just doesn't seem real,even though its going to be 4 months. It seems weird not seeing her at Walmart or places where this time of year she would be. I really miss her company,her funny laugh....I bought an ornament for her last year for our Christmas celebration....We all knew it would be her last,so what do you get a person who knows its almost time....I bought an angel,very pretty and victorian.She loved anything victorian or primitive. So today while I was going thru some christmas decration ideas on the web.....There was that ornament on someone's tree....I found it hard to control my tears. This year I found another ornament, a pair of angel wings...I placed it on my tree and smiled....Its in memory of Janet......I sure do miss you friend!!

Christmas Cards

I so enjoy recieving Christmas cards. Its nice to reconnect with lost people that seem to come out during the holidays. I also like to buy them. It takes me forever to find them perfect ones that I want to send out. I like the primitive ones. I often wonder what people do with there collection after the holidays. I wonder if they keep them like I do. I enjoy the photo kind too.It's neat to see how the kids grow through out the years. I like to write a little note in mine.

For the past couple of years I have sent my sister Kim and my sister Kelly a card. They live downstate and we don't have any contact with each other. My dad and their mom were married once and things I guess didn't go too good. I don't know the details,but that side of my family kinda disconnected from us. For me its hard to be distant and angry.I try not be be that kind of person. There isn't anything I can do to bring back the past,but I can change the future. So I found a way to contact them and I wrote them each a letter one year.Every Christmas there after,I have sent them a card with a picture of us in it....I haven't heard from them as of yet....And I wonder if they ever wonder about me like I do them. Now mind you I haven't seen them since I was about 5. I am 34....It seems so strange to me that they may not care to contact me. Are they angry with me because of what happened in the past? Its seems so strange...But I will keep sending them their cards and maybe one day they will suprise me! I won't push the issue,but I just want them to know that I do think of them and wonder about them.

A Thanksgiving Feast.....

There is so much to be thankful for.I could go on forever with everything and everyone I am thankful for. Thanksgiving was a day to reflect on all of those things and people that make my life what it is. It was a day for relaxing and being with just my kids and my husband. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything else. We sat together watching movies and putting up our tree. I cooked a beautiful turkey.Yes!!! I pulled it off and everyone survived!!(if you knew my cooking you would understand where that comment came from!!!)It came out perfect.I was so proud of myself!

Its just amazing how fast this year has gone by. Soon Christmas will be here and then a brand new year. I have lot to do before Christmas gets here. A lot of things happening in celebration of my favorite holiday.

As fast as this month went by,I hated to see the weekend end. Our friends from Indianapolis came up for the holiday weekend and I hated to see them leave. I thought when they moved this past summer that it would be easier to say goodbye the next time around...I was wrong,I still cried! We had a great weekend,and celebrated our friendships with a few too many drinks.....Hopefully next time it won't be so sad!!

Getting Ready For The Christmas Season

I have been so excited to get my Christmas stuff out of the basement and start decorating. I love this time of year!!! I love the feeling of how friendly and giving people are. I like reading in the newspaper or seeing the news about how this person gave this or that....For all the awful people out there,their are millions more that are giving and caring. Some people give monetary donations,some give their time,some give their prayers and thoughts....Whatever you give give it with lots of love!!!

A couple of weeks ago my favorite store "The Wicker and Willow" had there annual holiday open house. I just love looking in that store. The Owner is so very friendly and its just a nice feeling store. Well,I just happened to be the 3rd person to make a purchase that night,which in turn I won the door prize. Not really knowing what to expect...I was so suprised to see 2 snowmen there waiting for me on Monday. They are so cute and I can't wait to decorate my house with the Mr.and Mrs.!!

Today we took alittle trip to a few of my favorite stores to get a few new decorations. It seems I have everything I need,but then you see a few things and you just have to have them! For some odd reason the apple green color has really caught my eye this year and seems to look really good with my colors in house here. I picked up a few different things here and there. I can't wait until I get them all in there places.

Winter Wonderland

It has been snowing here for the past couple of days. At first it is beautiful.The scenery is different and bright to take in. But then April comes and its kind of tiresome by then. There is a lot of things to do here in the winter,that is one nice thing...But bundling up the kids and getting yourself bundled up gets rediculous after the first two weeks. By December the mittens have gotten lost and they can't find their hats,thinking they left them somewhere on the bus. Then by April you feel like you invested millions into the mitten stockmarket. Funny how in July you seem to find all those missing mittens somewhere around the house!

Well, this year we are somewhat prepared for the many feet of white stuff. Not only are we set on winter attire,but we have some new winter activities to do with the kids. Last year I found my way on to the ice rink....Never been skating before! I had so much fun,and am excited to get started on doing that again this year. Sledding is always a must,but sometimes I am too afraid to go down. So,I sit back and watch the kids. They have a good time and it seems to wear them down real quick.
This year though,we are going to venture out on some snow shoes. I have never done this either and here its a lot of fun and we will get some exercise. So, now I just have to get moving on buying some snowshoes.....

Yeah,another weekend that came and went. Seems like a lot happened this weekend. I accomplished so much and I even manage to have time for some visiting and shopping!

I am almost....ALMOST done with the kitchen. I have just the trim left on the basement door and then I can finish the hallway upstairs. So things are coming along.

All 3 of our cats got declawed this weekend,so that will cut my time in half with a paintbrush. They have all taken part in ruining our trim around the doors and my favorite chair.So I finally talked Nick into bringing them to get it done. Now I am left with cleaning up the claw marks on almost every door way.I guess I will be busy!

My sister in law and brother in law stopped by this weekend. I like visiting with them. We don't do it too often,but its nice when we do. After they left, Scott,Jenn and their kids along with Bob,Brian and Danielle came for a cook out. IN THE SNOW!!!

Yeah...Snow.....We decided to go to Marquette on Sunday. Our Expedition broke down,we had to get it towed.So we took the truck. Well, on the way home we almost ended up in the trees. It was so stormy out. Almost hit 3 deer and saw a car on its roof....So yeah...I was sure glad to get home yesterday!!!

Health and getting older....

Lately I have been feeling terrible. Not like a depression kind of blah,but just not having any energy. I feel so tired all the time. I have put on a significant amount of weight and there is not reason I should be this heavy. Its terrible! I am not a big eater and I am not a lazy person.So,it didn't make sense to feel this crappy and to be this heavy. I thought my reasoning for my feeling tired was my blood count being low again. I have been dealing with that for years and have even had to have transfusions to get it back on track.

Not only am I feeling tired and out of breath,my hair is falling out. Talk about depression there. I have short,thin hair to begin with!! So...Getting sick and tired of being tired,I called the doctor. As a result of my blood being taken,I have some results.Not sure yet what they are going to have me do about it,but at least I am getting somewhere....My thyroid is on the fritz. My numbers were higher than they like and would like to see me soon. Its a start in the right direction and hopefully they will figure something out so that I can start getting back on track and I can get some of my energy back. NOW...That doesn't give me permission to go off and eat Dairy Queen all day!!! I still need to get my eating in order and stay active.......

My house projects....

Will I ever be done with that dang paintbrush! I am STILL in the kitchen. I have just a small part to do,but I just can't seem to get it all finished. Its been so busy here,that I can't seem to get back into my corner and get it finished up. I have soooo many things I want to redo and start,but I think I better wait. Christmas will be here soon and I love decorating for it. I better hold of on my to do list.....

I am really happy that the diningroom is all done and has come together so nicely. I have a few more things I would like to add to the display cabinet,but I haven't found just the right things. I like all the new dishes that are out and the colors...So, there is no rush on putting anything in there right away. It takes time to find that perfect piece!!

I have decided after the hallway upstairs is done,that I will be moving on to my bedroom and my bathroom. I have had the inspiration pieces now for awhile and new bedding...So hopefully after I get the holiday decorating done I can start on that.....

It has started already. All the Halloween dressing up and frights. I love to see all the different costumes out there.So many creative people out there! My favorites are the little costumes they have now for babies and tots.

This weekend we took the kids to a "safe house" at the local college. We have done this for a few years now. Its a good time and the kids seem to like it. The college kids really put alot of time and effort into this safehouse. A lot of imagination too. There is 3 different age groups. You can do not so scary tours or very scary tours or maybe somewhere in the middle! We chose the not so scary one. There was 13 of us in our little group that decided to go this route. Nick,Scott and Michael were alittle more brave than the rest of us. We were there for a couple hours. It was a lot of fun! Afterward we took a ride to Lake Linden for the Haunted Train Ride. It was pretty spoooky!!! Again....Very hardworking people down there to give us visitors a good scare! The kids wanted to stay on the train and go around again,so I think they liked it!

After all that...We were all hungry! We stopped off at the Loading Zone to refuel! I hope everyone that came with us had fun and enjoyed themselves. I know I did!!!

I just recieved my Adobe Photoshop Cs4 today and can't wait to start messing around with it. I have been trying some different things out with my photos and my subjects. I love taking pictures. Just ask Bob!!! He thinks I am a crazy lady when it comes to taking pictures. I just want to remember all those great moments in my life. I know that they will always be in my memory,but its nice to look back at the pictures and remember. I hope to get better at photography and have been doing some on line programs and learning how to use the features on my camera..... I am sure my children are going to grow sick of the camera,but it will be something when they are all old and find my stash of photos I have kept for them.

The house is coming along really slow....I just amaze myself though sometimes. I put in a new light fixture all by myself last night. I grew tired of waiting until someone could come and do it. I figured the worst that could happen is that I got electrocuted.....So I decided to take on the task myself....And I DID IT!!! It hasn't fallen down yet or blew up,so I guess I did it right!!! AH! Who needs a man??!!! Women can do it too!!!

Another Busy Weekend

Boy,am I glad to see this weekend come to an end! There were kids everywhere! I decided to take my sisters boys for the night. Sometimes they can be a handful. The youngest one has some type of Autism and has in the past been a handful. But he sure has come a long way. I am so happy to see him growing up,trying to work his issues out instead of fighting. I am so proud of him. Nikiah and him are inseparable. They played together all the while he was here.

I did get a lot accomplished even though we had guests all weekend. Our camper needs to be brought to storage before the snow flies. Usually I have it all ready to go,but I have been really lazy about things lately. Well, today I finally went in there and removed all that needed to be gone and got it ready for winter. I also went through the garage and got it ready for winter.Putting all the summer things away. I am so happy that I got all that done.It was keeping me up at night with worry I wouldn't get it done in time. I also did some more painting.Will I ever be done with this downstairs???

Enjoying Time With Friends And Family

What better way to live your life! I really like to just sit around and laugh with people. That is what we did tonight. A small group of us got together tonight to celebrate Scotts birthday. We spend over 2 hours at the Waterfront laughing. It was a good night for it!

Over the weekend Scott,Jen and the boys came with us to drive around the Calumet area,north from where we are. The leaves were in their fullest colors,the temps were in the 70's and the sun was shining. It was the perfect day to do it. We took some wonderful pictures. Afterwards we came back here and had dinner on the grill. So....We had a good weekend......

I just finished uploading all the photos off of both the camera's. Funny how that little card holds all of them. I didn't think I took that many until its time to take them all off of the cards!!! Hopefully you all enjoy the scenery!!!

The concert was amazing!!! I think it was one of the best shows I have been to. I have been to a lot of concerts and this one wins hands down!! Taylor Swift has an amazing voice,very pretty too. She had the place cheering and fired up. She seemed pretty suprised at how loud the audience was. The teen boys that were in the front row really liked her!

So Rascal Flatts is my favorite. I love the way they sound and I like the blonde guy. He is a hotty! But aside from their looks they really put on a great show. They were so good at making the audience part of the show and that is what I really liked the most. I am so glad that I had the chance to see them. I hope to do it again. I don't know if Nick agrees.....

This and That

Been so busy painting.I haven't had a chance to get on here and write. My kitchen is half way done. I had NO plans on painting the kitchen so soon.But once I saw the colors of the dining room and the entry way done,the red in the kitchen just looked out dated. I am looovvving the direction all this new paint is going. It is so clean looking and fresh. The paint colors have changed the style of things and I am liking it. At the moment though,my house is a wreck. It looks like a tornado has landed down in the upstairs and I just haven't been able to keep up with things....Ah well, tomarrow is another day.....

This past weekend we took a trip around our town and took pictures of different things. It was nice on Sunday,so we just drove around looking at the leaves and taking pictures. It was a good weekend and I took alot of pictures of the kids.I think they get annoyed with me,but too bad!!!

Tomorrow we are heading out to Green Bay without the kids.....They will be at Tarris so that Nick and I can go to see Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift. I love Rascal Flatts,so I am stoked!!! I got the camera all charged and all the old pictures taken off to make more room for them!!! And of course,I get to do more shopping!!! YIPPPY!!!

Saturday Finds....

Today I hit the motherload of all greatness!!! I have been looking and looking for the perfect window treatment to put in the diningroom. So,we took the kids down to the Childrens Museum and did alittle shopping. There they were hanging way in the back of Pier One Imports. I was so excited to get them home and see how they would look. They look just like I thought they would! Perfect!!!! So the search is finally over....

My house is coming along just the way I had planned it. I have gotten all my primitive things put into storage. I have grown out of that phase. I have some unique primitive things and I don't really want to part with them as of yet...So down the basement they go until the next time. I have boughten some more modern things,painted more of the brighter colors. I love the new look. I still have a lot more painting to do,but I am just so happy that its all coming together. I plan to have more of my family pictures around,of course I have to add some of my crazy friends in there too!!!

Maybe when I am all done painting and things are back together I will share some of my home with all yous!!! Hopefully you are as happy as I am with the transition!

Another Weekend Come and Gone

Its Sunday once again. Another busy weekend comes to a close. This month seems to be zipping by.Its almost October,and yet my Halloween decorations are still sitting in the basement. Going down to the basement is a job in itself!!! Maybe that is why I have been putting it off. One day maybe I will write about how I got my basement all organized...Then you will know miracles can happen!

We made our way up to the Somero Pumpkin Farm yesterday.The weather was kinda depressing,but when you smell that fall smell...It doesn't matter what the weather is like. Their farm goes on for acres and its just breathtaking. Its a really nice spot to take pictures.He always has a spot made up to take pictures. Every year its in a different place and we get our picture taken. I like looking back on how big the kids get as the years go by.

Today was a day saved on the calendar to get all our summer things put away.Its kind of depressing because the weather has been so warm. My flower beds are just so full,they look better now than they did in the summer! Now the yard looks so empty with out all the garden things...But its time for a change....Halloween is next!!!

What a great weekend! Great friends,great food and a great game. It was just unreal....The Packer flag blowing around was just so neat to see. There were so many people at the football game. All those Packer fans watching the Cowboys kickin some ass! It was great to watch!!

What was more fun though, was spending it with a great group of people. We had a great time and we didn't even have to get all drunk. Of course I did have my margarita as promised,but it was a nice calm night. I did have a chance to hit up my favorite stores and shopped way too much. I bought a few things to replace my old diningroom decor. In which Scott and Bob will never let me forget. Thanks guys!!!

The painting was started in the dining room before I left and I am almost done with that room. I just love the new color.It is so bright and cheerful. Now I just have to find some new window treatments and I will be done. Wish me luck on that!!!

So....Its been a good week....I had a chance to spend some adult time with my husband and our friends and the kids got to realize how much they really do love us!!!

My suitcase is packed with my Tony Romo jersey and I am ready to get outta here! Nick and I are heading to Greenbay to see the Cowboys and the Packers. There will be pillow fights and laughing ,and I just can't wait. An adult weekend is in order! Scott,Bob and Neher,Joe,Shelly,Nick and I are heading out in the morning. I have my heart set on a nice cold Margarita with dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and some time to reflex on adult things and Margarita's!

Of course there is also shopping at a real mall! My favorite stores are Yankee Candle and Torrid. Yankee Candle is all festive this time of year with all the fall scents and halloween decorations. I think my favorite scent is the Pumpkin Spice. Torrid is a plus sized clothing store that has all the cool things for us thick girls.

Its gonna be a good weekend!!!

Hmmm! Since starting this,I haven't really said anything about who I am or much about what makes me tick!!!

So,here I am. I am a mother of 3. Daymen is my first born.He is 16 and quite a handful these days. People claim it is a phase he is going through,but I am not sure. Then there is Coleton he is 10 almost 11. He is a pretty good kid.Well mannered,and loves World of Warcraft. Nikiah is the baby and is almost 7. She is into all the girly things. Shoes are her favorite!! Or maybe that is my favorite thing!!

I have been with Nick,who I married in Aug. of 2000, for almost 18 years. For the most part him and I are like best friends.Yeah,there is an occasional arguement.But we seem to be on the same wave length about what we want for our family and for us.

There isn't much I don't like in life.I like to be with my family,with my friends....I love camping and being outdoors. I love gardening.Sitting in my yard in my hammock is where you will find me at some part of the day in the summer. I like to listen to all the outdoor noises and take in the views of my yard. I love taking pictures and looking for different spots to go and snap away.

I am a sister to 6 girls and 3 boys.....I have too many nephews and neices to keep tracked. I have a very special nephew who is more like my brother. Troy is very special to me and I love to spend my days with him showing him how life can be. He has CP and is wheelchair dependent.

Hmmm! What else...I am very much into tattoo's and body peircings. If it were up to me,I'd have my whole body tattooed!!! I have 11 tattoos and would love to add to them.

I love to go on vacation with friends and my family. Sometimes its just Nick and I and thats okay too,but I like to create the memories with my children.Sometimes it gets chaotic,but that is what life is all about. That is what happens when you take kids on vacation!!!!

Its really all about letting your hair down. Driving down a country road with your windows wide open and the music blairing!!! And that is what I did today. Yep!! I sang out loud on the top of my lungs. My favorite song at the moment is "Want to" by Sugarland. I can play that song over and over,singing my heart out. I wonder if anyone was out in the yards today while I was driving.....Poor Souls!

Today was a beautiful fallish kind of day.The leaves are starting to turn here in the U.P. and its sad to know snow is just around the corner. But to see the back roads on a fall day with the sun shining is just breath taking. The smells of the leaves just brings me back to when we were kids. Raking the leaves into piles and jumping into them....

I hope tomorrow is just as beautiful!!!

Football at the Mihelich's

It's Monday Night Football and dem Boy's just scored another...Come on Felix!!! It's any wonder how my children are going to get any sleep with Nick yelling. Boy! Does he get going. He is always so excited for his Cowboys to come on. He gets his Romo jersey out and ready to put on after he showers. The house has to be quiet when the game comes on. And then the yelling starts....I don't think I have ever heard so many Fbombs in my life then I do on game night. Jumping up and down and running in place..."Come on Felix....Keep them legs running!!!" and they score...All is quiet for a minute or two. So that is Monday Football at the Mihelich's,and I am sure its the same way across the U.S. LET'S GO COWBOYS!!!

Visiting With Family

Today was a rainy cold day...But it was a nice day to sit and visit with people. Nick's side of the family was having a birthday party for their boys. Perfect day for it! I like to sit around and listen to what's going on in other peoples lives. I like seeing how big all of our children are getting.

We don't all get together that often and I often tell myself that I am going to make more time for my friends and family,but then life happens and it goes on the back burner. Maybe with school here and my ability to do things while the kids are in school,there will be more time for people instead of chores.

Speaking of chores,I compiled a list of what I WANT done in this house.I may have to wait until next year for that family and friend time!!! I have a home that could potentially be beautiful if I just get everything done that I want to have done. But then I get it all done and I am ready for another change! But see I want to be the one making the changes.Learning how to put the molding up and doing the new hardwoood flooring.

Well, for today it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. My brother in law and sister in law have a beautiful family and a warm inviting home. So,no matter what the weather was like outside it was a beautiful way to spend the day!!!

Where to start? I just recently painted our livingroom. Its a deep brown on the window wall and a creamy white on the rest. I love the way it turned out. I accented in red,but want to add some orange. Everything is all coming together in that room...Now,I want to change the kitchen and dining area. I want a creamy orange in the dining room and incorporate the browns and reds from the livingroom. I am not sure what to do for the kitchen. I really want new counter tops,but just don't know how to start that process. Maybe once I change those,the wall color will come to me then.

It seems like I get things coming together and then I wanna change it again. I am never satisfied with the work when its all over!!! There are so many beautiful colors out there. I just want them all in my home!

Well, wish me luck on the dining room. I think I am going to start the painting process soon!!!

Nikiah and her loose tooth

A little wiggle and a little twist...Out popped her tooth! Nikiah lost her first tooth tonight. She was so afraid of it falling out. Of course it didn't come out willingly. With a little help from mom, there was the tooth ready for the tooth fairy. After we got the tooth out she giggled and giggled at how silly she looked. Of course she ran through out the house sharing the great news that she can finally catch the tooth fairy. Everyone that called on the phone or stopped at the house,Nikiah had to show them her tooth and the little space it left. Ahh,my baby is getting so big!!!

First Day Of School

Tomorrow is the first day of school for the 2008-2009 school year. It doesn't seem possible that it is that time of year already. I noticed this weekend the leaves are changing alittle already. So fall is right around the corner. With school starting tomorrow it makes me think of how I want to decorate for fall and Halloween. I love to decorate for the seasons. My kids like to help too. I have so many ideas for them to help me with.Its going to be a fun fall season.

What is not fun though is trying to get these kids in bed and thinking about trying to wake them up early. The thoughts of doing homework again. The fighting with the kids to get their work done. But tomorrow we,like parents across the U.S., are gonna party like rock stars knowing school is back in session!!!

Today was Jan's funeral. She has been in my thoughts so much the last few days. I think more so than before she passed away. I have thought about her family also,her boys and her husband...Her sister,the grandkids...They all were so close to her. She was always talking about her family. I wonder how one goes on after the funeral.... How will Butch be after all the goodbyes are done? After all is said and done and there is that first minute alone to let one dwell on the world around them without the one they have had there forever. She wanted us to remember her and not be sad,but how does one do that?

Her funeral was beautiful and just what she wanted. She had her favorite songs sung and her favorite verses read,and BUBBLES!!!! That was just like her to have bubbles there. She was so full of life even at the end. The whole church blew there bubbles as the congragation walked out and everyone smiled. There was a beautiful lunch at the church with her favorite ice cream maple nut.....What a better way to celebrate her.....

Hmmm....Today is the 24th day of August 2008. A day we spent at the county fair.Eating carmel apples,and drinking lemonade. A day spent watching all the people laughing and having a good time. I love to watch people.... My brother in law took part in the Demolition Derby,like he does every year. So we spent the day watching the dirt flying by as the cars raced around the track.

Today is also marked as the day Janet passed away. It will always be known as the day Janet left us. Although,a sad day....She would have wanted us to be out doing things with our families. She was very much a family person. She was very special in many ways. I just cannot believe I will never see her again,to hear her laugh. There was always a reason to smile according to her.And there she was smiling!!! Now there will be no more smiles around the table at Stitch and Bitch from her.

Thinking back on all the memories of her.....I remember being at Tarri's.There are 5 of us in the S and B club. We were talking about whistling. I got to show all the different ways I could whistle.Jan wanted me to teach her how to whistle with my thumb and index finger.We all tried and tried for 20 minutes.Laughing so hard at how funny we all looked. Janet went on to show us how she could blow on a blade of grass and make a whistle noise. After what seemed like an eternity,I finally got a whistle noise!!!

She was....Is a wonderful,smart,cheerful,honest person. She loved to cross stitch and was very good at it. I am so lucky to have known such a wonderful person. I just can't believe she is gone. I will always have those wonderful memories and the photographs,but at the moment it doesn't take the pain away.

She was okay with dying,having had to deal with knowing it would happen soon.But she always told us it makes her sad to know that she will leave all of us behind and all the fun behind. I know that she is up there in Heaven dancing,cross stitching and laughing. She is not having to worry about the cancer that took her from us.It is no longer eating away at her body.....

So to Janet.....Thank you for all those memories.You are going to be missed by so many....But not to worry,you will never be forgotten.........
